Privacy Policy
last updated · 6 July 2026
This policy explains what personal data Sitewise collects when you visit sitewise.studio or get in touch, why we collect it, and the rights you have over it. We keep it plain — no dense legalese.
Who we are
Sitewise (“we”, “us”) is a web studio based in the United Kingdom. For anything in this policy, contact us at hello@sitewise.studio. We are the “data controller” for the personal data described here.
Note for review: if you trade as a limited company, add your registered company name, company number and registered address here, plus your ICO registration number once registered.
What we collect and why
We only collect what we need to answer you and run the site:
- When you send an enquiry (contact form or the quick email capture): your email address, and — if you choose to give them — your name, business name and message. We use this solely to reply to you and discuss working together.
- When you chat with Byte, our AI assistant: the messages you type. These are used to answer your questions in the moment and, if you ask us to take your details, to create an enquiry.
- Basic technical data: standard server logs (such as your IP address and browser type) that any website receives, used to keep the site secure and working. We do not run advertising or cross-site tracking.
Our lawful basis
Under UK GDPR we rely on legitimate interests to respond to enquiries you send us and to keep the site secure, and on consent where you actively give us information (for example, by submitting the form or messaging the assistant). You can withdraw at any time by emailing us.
Who we share it with
We do not sell your data. We use a small number of trusted providers (“processors”) to run the service, and share only what each needs:
- Anthropic — powers the Byte AI assistant. Messages you send to Byte are processed by Anthropic to generate replies.
- Resend — delivers the email that notifies us of your enquiry.
- Our hosting provider — stores the site and its database on secure servers.
- Stripe — processes payments for clients on a plan (not used for general website visitors).
Some providers may process data outside the UK. Where they do, they rely on appropriate safeguards such as the UK International Data Transfer Agreement or equivalent.
How long we keep it
We keep enquiry details for as long as needed to respond and, if we start working together, for the life of that relationship plus any period we’re legally required to retain records. If nothing comes of an enquiry, we delete it once it’s clearly no longer relevant. You can ask us to delete it sooner at any time.
Your rights
Under UK GDPR you have the right to:
- access the personal data we hold about you;
- ask us to correct anything inaccurate;
- ask us to delete it;
- object to or restrict how we use it;
- ask for a copy in a portable format.
To exercise any of these, email hello@sitewise.studio and we’ll respond within one month.
Cookies
Our public site uses only essential cookies. For the full detail, see our Cookie Policy.
Complaints
We’d always like the chance to put things right first, so please contact us. You also have the right to complain to the UK’s data protection regulator, the Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO).
Changes to this policy
If we change how we handle your data, we’ll update this page and the “last updated” date above.
